Site Health and State System
The Site Health and State System is the foundation of EnergyTrak's monitoring logic. This system uses color-coded statuses to provide an immediate visual indication of your equipment's health and operational state. This document provides a comprehensive guide to the system's logic, including detailed tables for both operational equipment (Health and State mapping) and Battery Health status.
⚙️ Generator Status System Overview
The generator status system is composed of two primary factors:
- Health: This is the color-coded severity of an issue (e.g., Healthy, Warning, Critical).
- State: This is the current operational mode of the component (e.g., Running, Exercising, Standy, Stopped, etc.)
The individual status of each piece of equipment (Generator, Grid, Network) impacts the overall Site Status, which is the top-level indicator shown on the Site Dashboard. For instance, if the Generator enters a 'Fault' state, the Site Status will escalate to 'Critical'.
Breakdown of Generator Health-State Mapping
The table below details how various states of your generator impact its overall health status.
Table 1
Generator Health-State Mapping
| System | Type | Health | State | Site Health Impact | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Site | Site | Healthy | Ready | N/A | Grid online and generator in standby; all systems are healthy and ready for grid outage. |
| Exercising | Grid online and the generator is running (assumed to be performing an exercise test). | ||||
| Running | Grid offline and the generator is running (assumed to be powering the site). | ||||
| Warning | Warning | N/A | An active warning has been detected. | ||
| Critical | Fault | N/A | An active fault has been detected. | ||
| Disconnected | Disconnected | N/A | Network connection to EnergyTrak has been lost. | ||
| Ready For Setup | Ready For Setup | N/A | Site has been created but setup has not been completed. | ||
| Deactivated | Deactivated | N/A | User has manually deactivated the site in the EnergyTrak app | ||
| Generator | Equipment | Healthy | Standby | Healthy | Generator is not producing voltage and, if detectable, there is no fault present and the generator is in Auto Mode. |
| Running | Generator is producing voltage. | ||||
| Warning | Stopped | Warning | |||
| Critical | Fault Detected | Critical | |||
| No Data | No Data | No Impact | |||
| Grid | Equipment | Healthy | Online | Healthy | Grid voltage is present (grid_voltage = yes). |
| Warning | Offline | Healthy | Grid voltage is not present (grid_voltage = no). | ||
| No Data | No Data | No Impact | No Data when network state is disconnected OR site is not active. | ||
| Network | Equipment | Healthy | Connected | Healthy | EnergyTrak is Connected. |
| Warning | Network Issue | Warning | Cellular RSSI is less than -100 for a CONDITION time greater than 600s. | ||
| Disconnected | Disconnected | Disconnected | EnergyTrak is disconnected for a CONDITION time greater than 120m. |
🔋 Battery Status System Overview
The status mapping for batteries is simpler as it tracks overall health and operational status without a separate state.
Table 2
Battery Status Mapping
| System | Type | Health | Site Health Impact | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Site | Site | Healthy | N/A | All systems are functional and normal. |
| Warning | N/A | Some non-essential systems have been lost, but no reported critical failures. | ||
| Critical | N/A | Essential failures with a system have been detected. | ||
| Ready for Setup | N/A | The site has been created but no products have been set up. | ||
| Deactivated | N/A | Site has been unregistered from the EnergyTrak platform. | ||
| Battery | Equipment | Healthy | Healthy | Battery systems operating normally. |
| Warning | Warning | Battery reports non-critical issues. | ||
| Critical | Critical | Critical battery fault detected. | ||
| Network | Equipment | Healthy | Healthy | EnergyTrak is connected. |
| Disconnected | Disconnected | EnergyTrak is disconnected for a CONDITION time greater than 120m. |
